Someone asked me, what keeps me strong,
what helps me know where I, I belong;
what gives me peace, when life gets so loud;
I said it’s my soul and what I found,
I found–
that Torah lifts me up, clears my mental haze,
Mitzvos give purpose, to my ordinary days;
I’m not just living, I got a role in G-d’s plan,
I’m part of something infinite and grand.
I got this feeling, that I love and it won’t stop,
It’s Geshmak to be a Yid, it’s Geshmak to be a Yid…
At Chabad on Campus, my soul is in the zone;
I’m making Yiddishkeit my own.
Friday nights and holy days, reset my frame,
they slow the world down and spark my flame;
the meals, the laughs, filled with sanctity,
a dose of depth and Jewish family.
It’s more than just a label, to flex or to wear,
Cuz I know my mission, I know why I’m here;
shining my light transforming the mundane,
I walk with pride, I own my name.
I got this feeling, that I love and it won’t stop,
It’s Geshmak to be a Yid, it’s Geshmak to be a Yid…
At Pegisha I find myself and my friends say,
Rebbe, we’ll Farbreng the night away.
I’m happy I’m a note in this Jewish symphony,
making G-d’s dream, Moshiach, a reality.
Grateful for this gift, cuz it’s everything I need;
thank you Hashem for making me a Yid.
